About CVN Kalari Nadakav
CVN Kalari Nadakav — a healing lineage from the heart of Kerala
CVN Kalari Nadakav, Kozhikode, has carried forward Kerala’s healing and martial traditions since 1950. Established by Guru Shree Narayanan Gurukkal, who gave a new dimension to Kalarippayattu, Kalari-Yoga and Ayurveda Kalari treatment, what began as a single kalari has grown into an institution recognised across the world.
Today the tradition continues under the family’s guidance, drawing on a 2000+ year heritage of Marma treatment and Kalari — combining Ayurvedic treatment, Kalari Marma therapy and the discipline of Kalarippayattu under one roof, Gurukula style, with the healing touch of practitioners trained within the lineage itself. Its team has represented India across the world and choreographed more than 60 films.
CVN Kalari NCR is a branch of CVN Kalari Nadakav, bringing the same authentic, lineage-based healing to Gurugram and the wider Delhi NCR region. Trained Kalari therapists and an Ayurvedic physician work together — using medicated oils and preparations sourced from Kerala — to treat pain, injuries, stress and lifestyle disorders the traditional way.

Our Founder
Guru Shree Narayanan Gurukkal 1927 – 2000
Born in 1927 into a North Malabar family long respected for traditional medicine, he learned Kalaripayattu and Marma Chikitsa from his ancestors and established CVN Kalari Nadakav in 1950. A central figure in the revival of Kalaripayattu in Malabar, he served as District Secretary of the Kalari Association for nearly three decades and received national and international honours, including the American Excellency Award in 2000.
His legacy continues under his sons — Sri Anil Gurukkal, Sri Sunil Gurukkal and Sri Gopa Kumar Gurukkal.

Abhyangam
A full-body warm-oil massage from classical Ayurveda — relaxing, nourishing and easeful for the whole body.
Chavutti Uzhichil
A distinctive Kalari foot-massage tradition — deep, rhythmic strokes with controlled pressure, using an overhead rope for balance.
Podi Kizhi
Warm herbal-powder boluses applied in rhythmic patterns — a soothing fomentation for stiffness and tired muscles.
Patra Pinda Sweda (Elakizhi)
Warm boluses of fresh medicinal leaves worked over the body — a traditional swedana for joints and muscles.
Njavara Kizhi

Shirodhara
